CHARLES DICKENS
THE SIGNALMAN
AND OTHER GHOSTLY TALES
Adapted by Julian Harries & Pat Whymark
“I have no peace or rest, sir. The spectre stands there, by the danger-light, in the mouth of the tunnel. It waves to me. It rings the bell! It calls to me, in an agonised manner, 'Below there! Look out! LOOK OUT!’"
Prepare to have your spine tingled and your goose…bumped! as Common Ground invite you to draw your chair up to the fire and share the humour, magic and mystery of some of Charles Dickens’ best loves tales, including The Signalman, The Chimes and The Hanged Man’s Bride.
This fully professional production will feature Suffolk-based actor Julian Harries, whose recent credits include productions with The Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre and Shared Experience, and who will be familiar to East Anglian audiences from his appearances at The New Wolsey, Eastern Angles, Mercury Theatre, and Southwold Summer Theatre.
“The beautifully told story ties the strands of the narrative into a moving and uplifting whole, punctuated by moments of wit and engagingly earthy humour…An intense and magical piece of theatre” EADT review of ‘The Fisherman & The Turtle’, July 2009
