Dark Tales is an original play written for Common Ground by Pat Whymark and Julian Harries.

Many years ago, during a fierce storm in the North Sea, the ship carrying Leonor Boaventura from her home in Portugal is wrecked on the Suffolk coast. She is soon recovered and on her journey to the City with three traveling companions. But what are Mr Tiddles and Lucifer? Why is the man they live with called ‘The Master’? And what event is drawing everyone they meet to the City? Find out in this tale inspired by the historical cultures of Africa, Britain, Poland and Portugal, while encountering along the way ghouls, werewolves, ogres, vampires, a doll with a capacious appetite and a tail with a milk obsession.

To find out more, you’ll have to come and experience the music, laughter and horror of Dark Tales first hand. Make your way to the theatre, stay with your friends and beware of the demons...

Common Ground is delighted that Tom Peters is returning as a member of the professional cast, playing The Man. We also welcome Lisa Came to our professional ranks, playing Leonor Boaventura.
